I Built the Best IPTV Player on the Web Because No One Else Did

I’ve been using IPTV for years. And for years, I’ve been frustrated.

Every web-based IPTV player I tried felt like an afterthought. Basic M3U loading, a clunky interface, and zero features beyond “press play.” Want to filter by IMDB rating? Nope. Want separate profiles for your kids? Forget it. Want to use it on your TV with just a remote? Good luck.

So I built Moviepex.

The Problem With Every Other Player
Most IPTV web players look the same. Three big buttons: Movies, Series, Live TV. That’s your entire interface. Click one and wait. And wait. Loading times are painfully slow, even with a decent connection.

Once you finally get in, you’re dumped into an endless list with no real way to filter or search properly. Want to find something good? Scroll. Forever.

But here’s what frustrated me most: continue watching is saved locally in the browser. Switch to your laptop, your phone, or your TV and your progress is gone. Start over. Every. Single. Time.

I wanted to browse movies by genre. I wanted to see IMDB ratings before committing to something. I wanted my kids to have their own space without stumbling into content they shouldn’t see. I wanted to sit on my couch and navigate with my TV remote, not a mouse. And I wanted my watch history to follow me across every device.

None of that existed. So I started building.

What I Built
Moviepex is a web-based IPTV player that actually thinks about how people watch content.

Content Organization That Makes Sense
Your IPTV provider gives you thousands of channels, movies, and series. Moviepex organizes them into proper sections (Movies, Series, and Live TV) with real filtering options.

Want action movies from 2020 or later with an IMDB rating above 7? Done. Filter by genre, year, director, actors, or country. There’s smart search with auto-complete so you find what you want in seconds, not minutes of scrolling.

Hover over any title and you get an instant preview: plot summary, rating, year, and genre. You know exactly what you’re about to watch before you click.

Family Profiles
This was non-negotiable for me. My kids use the same IPTV subscription, but they don’t need to see everything I watch.

Moviepex supports multiple profiles with separate watch history and likes for each person. Kids mode automatically filters out adult content. Everyone gets their own space.

A Video Player That Actually Remembers You
Close the browser mid-movie? Moviepex remembers exactly where you stopped and resumes automatically.

Become a member
Watching a series? It auto-plays the next episode. A “Next Episode” button appears before the current one even ends. You can configure skip forward/backward buttons (5, 10, or 30 seconds) however you like. Season and episode pickers make navigation effortless.

Small details, but they add up to a completely different experience.

Continue Watching & Likes
Your homepage shows what you’re currently watching across all content. One click to jump back in. Like a movie or series to save it for later. Simple, but somehow missing from every other player.

Custom Presets (My Favorite Feature)
This is the feature I’m most proud of.

You can create personalized content feeds and pin them to your homepage. Save complex filter combinations like “Action movies, 2020+, IMDB 7+” as a preset. Create as many as you want. Mix and match them on your home screen.

Your homepage becomes yours. Not a generic dump of content, but curated feeds that match exactly how you browse.

TV Mode
I watch most of my content on a smart TV, using just a remote. Most web apps completely ignore this use case.

Moviepex has full arrow-key navigation. Every feature works with just up, down, left, right, and enter. Keyboard shortcuts throughout. It also works on mobile with a responsive design. One app, every screen.

Sports
Football fan? The homepage shows upcoming fixtures with kick-off times. No more hunting through channel lists to find the match.

Why I’m Sharing This
I built Moviepex because I needed it. But I also know I’m not the only one frustrated by the state of IPTV web players.

If you’ve got an M3U playlist and want a better way to actually use it, give it a try.
